Sadly, the Academy snubbed Fringe and its remarkable cast from any nominations. It seems that SciFi shows aren’t always received well or considered Emmy worthy enough.

Melissa McCarthy, from CBS’ Mike & Molly, and Joshua Jackson, from Fox’s Fringe, will present this year’s Emmy nominations. They will join Academy of Television Arts & Sciences chairman and CEO John Shaffner on Thursday, July 14 at 5:40 a.m. to announce the nominees.

The 63rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air live coast-to-coast on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Fox from L.A. Live’s Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Glee star Jane Lynch (Josh’s TV mom from Dawson’s Creek!) will host with Mark Burnett producing.

As promised, Josh returned to SiriusXM Radio’s “Geek Time” today to say thank you to the show’s hosts if Fringe was saved and renewed for another season. He shares his reasons for not having a Twitter account (you can start un-following those imposters!), plans for Pacey-Con 2011 and his biggest geek-out item he wanted to get.

ET Canada was fortunate enough to go on a road trip with Josh (emission free thanks to Mercedes-Benz!) from Mt. Shasta, California up along the West Coast to Vancouver, British Columbia. Here is the condensed video:
