Finally! New movie news is always the best, especially after a long hiatus of nothing new to report!

Marisa Tomei, Joshua Jackson board ‘Inescapable’
Mideast-set thriller to be helmed by Ruba Nadda
By Dave McNary

Marisa Tomei and Joshua Jackson are joining Alexander Siddig as the leads in the indie thriller “Inescapable.”
Film will be directed by “Cairo Time” writer-director Ruba Nadda, who also wrote the script. It will be produced by Daniel Iron (”Edwin Boyd,” “Cairo Time”) with Lance Samuels (”The Bang Bang Club”).

Christine Vachon of Killer Films, Kirk D’Amico of Myriad Pictures and Mark Slone of Alliance Films are executive producers. Alliance Films will also distribute Inescapable in Canada.

Project is the story of a Syrian expatriate (Siddig) whose journalist daughter goes missing in Damascus. He must return to his homeland to find her despite the risks, and calls on a former love (Tomei) to help him. An embassy official (Jackson) is at first helpful but may have an agenda of his own.

Now we know what happened to Peter Bishop after he disappeared from history in last May’s season finale of Fringe — he took a job writing comics.

In advance of the Fox’s sci-fi saga’s season four premiere on Friday, DC Entertainment is launching Beyond The Fringe, a new comic book series that fans of the show can buy for 99 cents via digital download. The first installment — available this afternoon at read.dccomics.com — is written by Joshua Jackson himself and drawn Jorge Jimenez. (Cover art is by Drew Johnson.) New issues will post every two weeks and will alternate between “A storylines” and “B storylines.” The former will explore uncharted regions of the show’s mythology; the latter will feature “what if?” tales that imagine variations of events and adventures.

Jackson’s three-part “A” arc is entitled “Peter and The Machine” and takes place between the events depicted in the season three finale and the forthcoming season premiere. DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television supplied EW with a two-page excerpt from the comic, sans captions and word balloons. However, since we watch Fringe wayyy too closely, we might surmise the context.

Per Variety.com an exclusive announcement was made that Josh (has joined?) or is at least in serious talks to join the cast of “Lay the Favorite” which currently stars Rebecca Hall and Bruce Willis. Here is a little bit about the production:

Pic is based off the life of Beth Raymer, a professional gambler who started off as a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas but soon rose to become one of the world’s best gamblers. After falling in love, Raymer soon begins to re-evaluate her life and the profession she has chosen.

No word on what his role will be as of yet, but filming should be taking place later this year. As more information is made available, I’ll be sure to share it with all of you. This is great news! :)

TV Guide is featuring an interview of the Fringe cast for its latest issue which is on newsstands now. Scans will be posted later today.

Here are some tidbits from TV Guide.com:

Jackson is concerned how viewers are going to feel about Peter not just falling for another woman, but also being played once again. “He gets hoodwinked at a time when you’d think he’d be a little bit more eyes-wide-open,” says Jackson. “And because he doesn’t figure [Bolivia] out and has no real hand in getting our Olivia home, I worry about Peter’s future. I think it may break the character. It’s like, ‘Who is this guy who keeps getting fooled?’”

Hi, everyone! Sorry for the delay in updates, but I’ve been on vacation for the past week and just got back. However, I bring great treats for you all! I managed to get a copy of NUVO magazine and scanned some amazing shots (and the interview) of Josh featured in their Autumn issue. Check out this great interview and photoshoot found in the gallery below.

Did you all watch Fringe last Thursday? How awesome was that premiere? Although it was only a little bit of Josh towards the end, it was still amazing. I hope you all enjoyed it and look for the “over here” episode titled, “The Box” Thursday night!
