Exciting news! Josh is starting production this week on the new Michael McGowan film, “One Week”. Here are some details about the project: (link to article)

“Mongrel Media has announced that principal photography will begin tomorrow, September 10, on the feature film One Week. Starring Vancouver-born Joshua Jackson, and helmed by the award-winning filmmaker Michael McGowan (Saint Ralph), who also wrote the screenplay, One Week chronicles the motorcycle trip of Ben Tyler as he rides from Toronto to Tofino, British Columbia. Ben stops at landmarks that are both iconic and idiosyncratic on his quest to find meaning in his life. Set against one of the greatest and most diverse landscapes in the world, One Week also stars Liane Balaban (St. Urbain, Horseman, New Waterford Girl).

The film is produced by Nicholas de Pencier, Jane Tattersall and Michael McGowan under the Mulmur Feed Company banner with Richard Hanet and Joshua Jackson serving as executive producers. Jackson had a costarring role in the 2006 film Bobby which received mixed reviews from critics after it premiered at the Venice Film Festival where it was wildly popular and was given a seven-minute standing ovation. It went on to be nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Picture.

One Week is produced with financial participation from Telefilm Canada, The Harold Greenberg Fund, the OMDC Film Fund and in association with The Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit and The Canadian Film and Television Tax Credit. It will be distributed in Canada by Mongrel Media.”

We’re all excited to hear that Josh has a new project! I’ll keep you posted on any further details.

ETA: Here is some more news about Josh’s role (also, make note that Josh is the executive producer for this project!):

The role is about a guy who is diagnosed with cancer and, prior to undergoing chemo - quite possibly his last healthy moment in life - decides to take off into the unknown wilderness in his own backyard, literally, before he enters the figurative unknown.

I’ll be sure to keep you all posted, and for all of you Canadian’s out there…keep a look out! You might spot Josh filming! :)
